fz on crossfire

happy new yr!

here's a clip of frank zappa on cnn's crossfire back in '86 (when he was still, y'know, alive), talking about censorship with a somewhat overwrought cat from the washington times. am i totally off-base, or are some of his remarks kinda, um, prescient (in the same way as the movie network was prescient)?

ha! i'd almost forgotten twisted sister. useta go see 'em on lawn guyland back in the mid-'70s when their show was half glam covers, half drag show. they were billed as "twisted sister -- they're no ladies, mister."

funny how the pmrc's "warning" labels wound up getting used as a marketing device.

i usedta think about starting a band called "parental advisory" and making a rekkid called "explicit lyrics."
