No barstool blues or like a hurricane? Everyone has their fav Neil Songs. Been reading a book by Danny Goldberg called Bumping into Geniuses about his time in the record biz. Pretty interesting read. Cheers Ken,

John

Had to chime in here. No particular order:

1) light a candle (a new fave, from fork in the road)
2) tell me why
3) down by the river (played this ad nauseum
when I was first learning guitar)
4) revolution blues
(the first time I saw NY, on the Trans tour, he
did this solo acoustic with a harmonica break
and it was the most riveting performance I've
ever seen)
5) thrasher (beautiful 12 string sound & lyrics)
6) mr. soul (the Unplugged version)
7) look out for my love
8) walk on
9) ride my llama
10) powderfinger

Have you heard the version of "Cinnamon Girl", an out-take from the SMASH YER HEAD AGAINST THE WALL sessions by John Entwistle on the CD re-release?

Mighty fine!
Best Neil Young cover ever?

Ash...you don't get what? why people love Neil Young? Hope you don't mean that. That's almost like saying I don't know why people like breathing. Anyone who doesn't dig Neil is no one I want to ever share a beer with. Poooshawww. But maybe you don't mean that...I hope not anyhow. I would never stoop to such levels usually but if you don't dig Neil you are full of fucking shit! But wait isn't music objective and everyone has their own tastes and opinions? Yeah I guess so....did I see After the Goldrush anywhere? Hmmm..isn't that where the name of the Replacements came from? Maybe not but surely no one on this blog will say they don't like the Mats...time to get off my drunk horse and get some sleep.

pretty please, folks -- no flame-war bullshit here, ok? i don't like deleting comments, but i have and will. music is _subjective_. some ppl just don't like strawberries. if hearing it doesn't convince someone, insulting them sure isn't going to change their mind. i don't care if ppl disagree with me. and as it happens, ash's comment is a continuation of a riff from dinner a coupla weeks ago. so there.

Sorry bout that Ken (and Ash). No flaming meant. Just little tequila meets blog rabblerousing. I'll take that as a virtual slap on the wrist and compose my response a bit more tactfully next time. I'm friends with a girl who hates the Beatles...odd to me but everyone has their own tastes and sure...no one is wrong.
